About This Role

Yateley Sixth Form is seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Assessor to support students working towards NCFE CACHE Childcare qualifications. This flexible role involves visiting students in their work placements, assessing progress against national standards, and helping them achieve their full potential as Early Years Practitioners.

Working closely with the Head of Department, you will conduct workplace assessments, professional discussions, and placement visits across a range of Early Years settings. You will monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, provide individual guidance and support, and ensure compliance with awarding body and DfE requirements.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Industry experience within the Early Years sector.

  • A sound understanding of current Early Years frameworks, including the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

  • A recognised assessor qualification, such as the Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment, or be working towards achieving this qualification.

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and support learners.

  • The ability to work independently, build positive relationships with students and placement providers, and manage a varied workload effectively.

The role includes travel to placement settings, contributing to quality assurance activities, and supporting the development of placement opportunities.
