HS Curriculum Development Coordinator
About This Role
The development of the high school curriculum entails two related but distinct initiatives: 1. taking essential initial steps to obtain IBDP authorization, as well as establishing a detailed timeline and budget for implementing the DP in Year 5 (2029-30); 2. Designing an engaging Mingwan Pathway to graduation. The Mingwan Pathway, referred to as IB+, is a hybrid program that allows selected students to participate in various IBDP courses while also pursuing specialized electives that include research and internship opportunities. Given that the Mingwan Pathway may extend over three years (Grades 10-12), it is vital to have the program clearly articulated and ready for presentation to parents and students by the middle of Grade 9 (Year 2027-28). Consequently, it is essential to finalize the program and secure the necessary approvals from the Education Committee and the full Governance Committee by December 2027.
The expected workload for the high school curriculum development position is projected at 0.8 FTE, with the remaining 0.2 allocated for teaching duties.
