Primary Teacher

The English International College, situated close to Marbella on the Costa del Sol, was established in the summer of 1982. Designed to operate free from political, racial, or religious bias, the school initially opened with just five classrooms and welcomed 32 students in both primary and secondary education. Within the first year, additional facilities were secured, allowing the school to fully implement its Primary and Secondary Departments. In November 1983, the college successfully underwent a comprehensive inspection by representatives of Her Majesty’s Inspectorate from Great Britain. Following this, it gained recognition from the Ministerio de Educación y Ciéncias in Spain, receiving its official accreditation on March 23, 1984, from the Consejería de Educación of the Junta de Andalucía. During the same period, the college joined the National Association of British Schools in Spain. The institution continued to expand, and in 1993, it became a member of the European Council of International Schools. From September of that year, it was authorized to enroll Spanish nationals across all educational levels. Initially a privately owned entity, the college transitioned to a cooperative structure (S.A.L) before exploring various organizational frameworks to ensure its integrity and service to the community. Today, the English International College operates as an Educational Trust, overseen by legal and financial trustees, who are accountable to the school and its auditors. Throughout its history, the EIC has celebrated a record of achievements: its examination results have consistently been outstanding, and many students have progressed to some of the world’s most esteemed universities and colleges, including Oxbridge and Harvard.
