Cover Supervisor
About This Role
32.5 hours per week, scheduled between 8:30 am and 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday, during term time only.
Campion School & Language College is on the lookout for an enthusiastic cover supervisor to become part of our committed team, presenting a fantastic opportunity for professional growth within a nurturing Trust environment.

Cover supervisors hold a crucial position in managing classes when a teacher is unavailable. Responsibilities include ensuring students complete assigned work while maintaining classroom order. When not supervising class cover, cover supervisors will also handle general administrative tasks and engage in activities throughout the school.
Key responsibilities during supervision include:
- Ensuring accurate registration of all students.
- Distributing and explaining tasks set by the absent teacher to students.
- Overseeing students as they complete assignments, providing guidance to facilitate problem-solving and solution-finding.
- Demonstrating solutions and answers for students.
- Managing student behavior to maintain a conducive learning environment and adhering to school behavior policies.
- Actively supporting and implementing the Campion School behavior policy.
- Serving as a tutor group mentor; registering students, attending assemblies with them, leading mentor time activities, promoting their well-being, and encouraging full participation in all school aspects.
- Assisting the SEN team with whole-class instruction and/or providing individual student support and sessions.
- Offering individual learning support to small groups or single students as directed by a teacher or school leaders, enabling them to solve problems and find solutions.
- Ensuring the safety of students and staff members.
