Penrice Academy is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed and inspirational Head of Year to join our dedicated team.

The successful candidate will play a key role in providing outstanding leadership and support for students within their year group, ensuring that they are able to thrive academically, socially and emotionally. Working closely with students, families, tutors, teachers and wider pastoral and support teams, the Head of Year will build positive relationships and create a strong sense of belonging, high expectations and community.

The role will involve monitoring and improving attendance, punctuality, behaviour, engagement and student progress, identifying emerging concerns and ensuring that appropriate support and intervention are put in place. The successful candidate will also play an important role in safeguarding, working collaboratively with colleagues and external agencies where appropriate to ensure the wellbeing and safety of students.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about young people, highly organised, resilient and confident in managing challenging situations. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to build strong relationships with students and families, and a commitment to maintaining high standards and expectations.
