High School Teacher

Opaskwayak Education Services Inc. is seeking a Term High School Teacher to join our team until June 24, 2026.

OVERVIEW

At Opaskwayak Education Services Inc., we are dedicated to promoting the revitalization of language, culture, spirituality, and traditional knowledge, enriching the educational experiences of our learners. We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed English teacher who can create a positive and culturally relevant learning environment for students at Oscar Lathlin Collegiate.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

• A valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate
• A Bachelor of Education is required
• Applicants must submit a satisfactory child abuse registry check and criminal record check prior to their employment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support potential graduates at OLC and guide students towards completing high school
• Perform needs assessments to identify barriers to success, developing strategies to mitigate these challenges and advocate for necessary support
• Establish trusting relationships with students and their families
• Work collaboratively with teachers, staff, families, and community resources
• Communicate student needs with relevant staff and advocate for learners, assisting with interventions to foster student wellness and academic achievement
• Adhere to the Teachers Code of Conduct and the OCN/OES Employee Code of Conduct
• Demonstrate punctuality and respect towards all staff while promoting student wellness and academic initiatives

• Mathematics: Applied Mathematics 40S, Pre-Calculus 40A, Essential Mathematics 40S

• Physical Education: Physical Education & Health 40F, Active Living Healthy Lifestyles 40S
• Cree Language: 40S or 40F
• Career Development: Career Development 40S, Life/Work Transition 40S
• Arts & Electives: Visual Arts 40S, Band 40S, Drama 40S, and other Electives 40S
• Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
