Founded in September 2016, NACIS Shanghai provides an engaging, creative, and fulfilling educational atmosphere. Our institution caters to students aged 6 to 18, cultivating a progressive and internationally aware community. We deliver a distinctive bilingual, blended learning curriculum culminating in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. Situated in the Minhang District of Shanghai, our school is equipped with cutting-edge facilities that enhance our innovative teaching methods.
Our staff comes from 10 different countries, with significant representation from China, the UK, Ireland, and North America.
The role:
We are in search of an outstanding and seasoned University Guidance Counsellor whose primary responsibilities will include:
• Utilizing your extensive knowledge of the application processes for leading universities in the UK, US, Canada, Australia, and beyond to provide comprehensive guidance to students.
• A solid understanding of BTEC is preferred.
• Integrating into the University Guidance Counseling (UGC) team and forging strong relationships with university admissions representatives.
• Collaborating with students, parents, and colleagues to deliver personalized university guidance, assisting students in achieving their college aspirations.
• Aiding in the implementation of the University Guidance program, ensuring it meets established objectives and upholds high standards.
• Working with BETC, IB, and A-level educators to align programs with college preparatory initiatives.
• Participating in career events, such as guest speaker sessions, university fairs, and career conventions, to inform students about various opportunities available to them.
• Actively participating in the overall development and enhancement of the school.
The Successful Candidate will possess:
• A recognized qualification and/or significant experience as a University Guidance Counsellor in an educational context.
• The capability to teach related content skills, including research and PSHE.
• Familiarity with leading curriculums, including BTEC, A-level, IBDP, and international curriculums, along with their respective assessment strategies.
• An understanding of effective teaching and learning theories, with the ability to address the individual needs of all learners through organization, differentiation, and learning strategies.
• Strong skills in people management.
