About You:

We are looking for an exceptional and innovative Second in Faculty – Art & Design Technology to help lead and develop a dynamic and creative department across all key stages.

This middle leadership position will report to the Head of Faculty and includes maintaining an active teaching role in Art and Design Technology while playing a crucial part in enhancing the quality of teaching, learning, and curriculum development.

We seek a teacher and aspiring leader who:

- Holds a relevant degree in Art, Design, or a related discipline, along with a PGCE (or equivalent) and QTS.
- Has a proven track record of delivering high-quality teaching in Art and/or Design Technology, resulting in positive outcomes for students.
- Demonstrates the ability to transition into middle leadership, supporting the strategic vision while exemplifying excellent classroom practices.
- Assists the Head of Faculty in implementing a creative, innovative, and well-structured curriculum across all key stages.
- Contributes to the mentoring and development of colleagues, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Is passionate about nurturing creativity, design thinking, and problem-solving skills in students.
- Actively shapes and delivers a rich co-curricular program, including exhibitions, competitions, and enrichment opportunities.
- Is skilled in utilizing technology and digital tools to enhance teaching and learning in Art and Design Technology.
- Effectively uses assessment and data to support student progress and improve achievement.
- Communicates excellently, building strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Brings enthusiasm, creativity, and initiative, inspiring students and contributing to the development of the department.
- Displays a growth mindset, committed to continuous professional development and leadership growth.
- Engages in the wider school community, promoting a positive and inclusive culture.
- Serves as a strong role model, embodying the school’s values while promoting creativity, resilience, and collaboration.
