About This Role

O Castro British International School, situated in Vigo, Spain, is a lively and successful institution with over 700 students enrolled in both Primary and Secondary education. We follow the National Curriculum for England and the Cambridge International Curriculum for KS3 in English, Mathematics, and Science, along with IGCSE and A Levels. We are excited to invite an enthusiastic and skilled Primary Teacher to become a part of the O Castro British School team:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons in key Primary subjects aligned with the British curriculum, ensuring a thorough exploration of literacy, numeracy, science, and integrated learning.
  • Teach students in Key Stage 1 and/or Key Stage 2, helping them establish solid foundational skills, confidence, and a sense of curiosity.
  • Regularly assess, monitor, and document student progress, offering constructive feedback and updates to parents and school leadership.
  • Engage in curriculum planning, create high-quality teaching resources, and collaborate on the continuous improvement of the Primary program.
  • Support enrichment activities such as assemblies, themed days, school events, clubs, or educational trips.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes positive behavior, well-being, and active learning.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • C1/C2 level proficiency in English.
  • A degree in Education or a related field.
  • Experience in a primary school teaching position.
  • A strong understanding of the British Primary curriculum and effective teaching strategies for younger students.
