1-1 TEACHING ASSISTANT (MEDICAL NEEDS)
About This Role
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
• The ability to remain calm, vigilant and responsive, including in an emergency
• A warm, child-centred approach and a strong commitment to helping the child participate fully in
school life and reach their potential
• A willingness and ability to undertake specialist competency-based training and follow the child's
individual healthcare plan precisely
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with parents/carers, school staff and
health professionals
• Discretion, reliability, initiative and a clear understanding of confidentiality
• The ability to support learning, communication, personal care and growing independence without
creating unnecessary dependence
• A firm commitment to safeguarding, health and safety, infection prevention and school policies
• Experience of supporting children with SEND, complex medical needs or a tracheostomy is desirable;
