The Role of the Inclusion Teacher

In the role of Inclusion Teacher, you will be instrumental in cultivating a learning environment where every student, including those with additional learning needs, receives the support necessary for success. Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing and executing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to students’ specific needs.
• Collaborating with teachers to modify and differentiate the curriculum to ensure accessibility and engagement for all learners.
• Partnering closely with parents, staff, and external agencies to offer comprehensive support for students.
• Assisting students with English as an Additional Language (EAL), learning difficulties, or other barriers to education.
• Monitoring student progress and providing data-driven interventions to guarantee measurable growth for every learner.
• Advocating for inclusive practices throughout the school to foster a culture of acceptance and celebration of diversity.

What We’re Looking For

We are in search of a teacher who can demonstrate:

• A solid understanding of inclusive education and strategies to assist students with diverse needs.
• Experience in developing and implementing individualized learning plans.
• Excellent interpersonal abilities and the capacity to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and parents.
• Confidence in utilizing data and assessments to track student progress and inform interventions.
• A dedication to fostering a positive and inclusive school atmosphere.
• The ability to engage with multicultural and multilingual students, honoring and celebrating cultural diversity.

Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this position, you must possess:

• A teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, BEd, or equivalent) alongside a minimum of two years of experience in inclusion or special needs education, as well as a qualification in SEN.
• Knowledge of current UK educational practices and SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) frameworks.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively support and teach students across primary and/or secondary age ranges.
• Experience working with students who have EAL or additional needs is highly desirable.
