The Role

The Head of Department will directly report to the Executive Principal through the Academic Management team.

This position involves leading a team of specialized subject teachers, which is expected to grow significantly with increasing student enrollment. The Head of Department will be responsible for promoting the subject across all grade levels within the School. Strong organizational skills are vital, along with a dedication to teaching, an innovative and energetic approach, and a commitment to varied teaching methods that support the School's mission and goals.

Qualifications:

• a strong degree primarily focused on the relevant subject;

• a formal teaching qualification is advantageous;

• a sincere interest in continuous training and professional development;

Skills and Experience:

• the capability to proficiently and confidently teach the subject to students aged 11-18 (Chinese Grades 6 to 12), with up-to-date knowledge in the subject area;

• an essential readiness to cater to the needs of students for whom English is a second language;

• strong ICT skills and the ability to adapt quickly to new systems and processes, particularly concerning the SchoolPal platform, which also serves as our VLE;

• excellent organizational and administrative skills;

• a willingness to participate in the School's extracurricular activities is highly regarded;

• a readiness to support the Admissions and Marketing teams is crucial;

• relevant experience in teaching, examination, or the commercial sector will be seen as beneficial.
