About This Role
Qatar Foundation's Academic Bridge Program (ABP) invites applications for the position of Librarian to become part of our dynamic and collaborative team dedicated to college-level students.
The ABP is an intensive, one-year program designed to enhance skills in English as a Foreign Language (EFL), mathematics, science, computing, and study techniques for students with significant potential.
As the Librarian, you will oversee library instruction, information access, media services, and various educational offerings. Your role will also involve teaching library skills to students, providing guidance to help them reach their goals, and collaborating with faculty to ensure a cohesive program that aligns with the objectives of the ABP.
We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Librarian to join our team starting in August 2025. This position is ideal for a qualified individual with the expertise and training needed to manage a college-level library system.

Key responsibilities include:
- Creating an annual instructional plan for library services.
- Developing an annual library budget proposal for submission to the relevant administrator.
- Planning and implementing service programs, including support staff scheduling.
- Overseeing library staff activities.
- Selecting and organizing materials, equipment, and computer systems for research, circulation, and collection management in line with QA policy, ensuring proper storage and maintenance.
- Supporting instructional initiatives across the curriculum with library services.
- Collaborating with educators to incorporate information skills into the curriculum.
- Providing group instruction and personalized guidance for resource location and research techniques.
- Assisting students in developing research skills and understanding how to retrieve, utilize, and assess information sources.
- Fostering a learning environment that caters to the maturity levels and interests of students.
- Enforcing discipline in accordance with QA policies and administrative regulations.
- Offering professional development for faculty that addresses new trends in information retrieval, technology, and multicultural education, and training teachers and teaching assistants in equipment usage.
- Participating in curriculum committees and attending department head and faculty meetings.
- Developing a plan for the ongoing evaluation of the library media program and implementing improvements based on evaluations.
- Attending professional workshops, conferences, and seminars to stay informed about new developments to enhance the QA Library/Media program.
- Preparing displays, exhibits, and bulletin boards.
- Collaborating with parents to ensure a high-quality educational experience for all students.
- Undertaking responsibilities as outlined in the school’s Health and Safety Manual alongside all staff members.
- Taking on additional duties related to organizing and supervising co-curricular activities.
- Actively promoting the mission, vision, and values of the school.

Qualifications & Experience:
- A Master’s degree in library sciences or a related field.
- A minimum of three years managing a large library at the community college or undergraduate level within a U.S. university, or three years as a master teacher at the high school level; experience with graphing calculators and computer algebra systems as teaching tools is required.
- A clear criminal record and successful background check.
- A clear medical history for HIV, Hepatitis B and C, and Tuberculosis.
