Job Responsibilities & Duties
Teaching, Coaching & Skill Development
Deliver the curriculum for Physical Education (PE) and/or provide exceptional coaching sessions throughout the Primary and Secondary phases.
Work with students of varying abilities, ensuring their safety, inclusion, enjoyment, and progress.
Support core sports programs in volleyball, basketball, football, and swimming; proficiency in at least one of these areas is preferred.
Conduct sessions in additional sports such as badminton, tennis, dance, fencing, yoga, fitness, or athletics based on your expertise.
Promote physical literacy, teamwork, resilience, sportsmanship, and a lasting enjoyment of physical activity.
Planning, Assessment & Student Progress
Create engaging, well-structured lessons or sessions that align with departmental curricula.
Offer feedback to students and monitor their skill enhancement and engagement levels.
Assist with internal assessments and reporting as needed.
Support IGCSE PE theory or practical components (preferred but not mandatory).
Co-curricular Sport, Fixtures & Competitive Leagues
Lead or assist with after-school training for various age groups.
Coach teams for local leagues and tournaments, demonstrating flexibility regarding hours and days during competition seasons.
Help organize fixtures, transportation, supervision, equipment, and logistics for event days.
Encourage inclusive participation while fostering talent and competitive excellence.
Swimming Provision
Assist with swimming lessons for K–12 as appropriate.
Support beginner, development, or squad swimmers based on your experience and certification.
Adhere to all safety, supervision, and poolside protocols in collaboration with lifeguards and the Head of Sport.
Safety, Conduct & Professionalism
Uphold high standards of safeguarding, health and safety, and student behavior.
Ensure appropriate supervision ratios and the safe use of sports equipment and facilities.
Prepare teaching/coaching areas and assist with the general operations of the department.
Exemplify professional conduct, punctuality, and positive communication with students, colleagues, and families.
Co-Curricular, House System & Community Engagement
Facilitate or support sports clubs, recreational fitness sessions, or wellness programs.
Contribute to the House system through inter-House competitions and events.
Assist with school-wide activities such as sports days, tournaments, swim galas, charity events, and festivals.
Foster a positive sporting culture that embodies RGSPP’s values and commitment to holistic education.
All Teachers at RGSPP
Participate in the pastoral care and holistic support for students at RGSPP.
Teach (or be available for Private Study supervision or cover) a designated timetable each week.
Take on responsibilities within their department as reasonably required, including aiding in the setting and grading of internal examinations, entrance assessments, and scholarship evaluations, and recording results.
Develop and share resources and best practices, contributing to departmental meetings and the online departmental handbook.
Assign and grade work following School and departmental policies; provide constructive feedback; maintain accurate records of student attainment and progress; prepare assessments and reports as required.
Attend meetings (staff meetings, INSET, Parents’ Briefings) and engage with parents both at scheduled school events and when necessary.
