Primary Homeroom/ Math Teacher
About This Role
The Primary Homeroom Teacher will play a crucial role in fostering and maintaining an educational environment that supports the holistic development of students. This position involves the planning, instruction, and learning processes for specific year groups, with a strong focus on maintaining high standards within the classroom. The homeroom teacher will collaborate across various departments and pursue continuous improvements within the curriculum.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Create an encouraging and supportive learning environment that facilitates student development
• Ensure innovative teaching methods while upholding high standards in both instruction and learning
• Collaborate in the design, development, and enhancement of the curriculum
• Actively participate in school events and initiatives
• Align daily instruction with the Primary curriculum and interdisciplinary methods
• Maximize curriculum enhancement opportunities by organizing activities both within and outside the classroom, such as inviting guest speakers and coordinating field trips
• Develop a classroom atmosphere and build relationships with parents that reflect a dedication to the social and academic welfare of each student
• Address the pastoral needs of all students
REQUIREMENTS
• A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
• A recognized teaching certification (e.g., B.Ed., M.Ed., iPGCE, QTS/iQTS)
• Ideally, two years of full-time teaching experience in mainstream education
• Familiarity with the Cambridge curriculum is advantageous, especially in an international education context
• A strong commitment to student pastoral care and responsibility
• A readiness to engage in academic enrichment and extracurricular initiatives
• Ability to work collaboratively and productively as part of a team
• A commitment to maintaining and elevating high standards in teaching and learning.
