About This Role

Avenor College is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of Mathematics to join our team, teaching Mathematics from Key Stage 3 to A Level. We invite applications from qualified Mathematics educators who are eager to work with students in KS3-5. Early Career Teachers are encouraged to apply and participate in our ECT programme.

Our new, state-of-the-art Senior building is equipped with fully resourced classrooms. The college is committed to personal and professional development, offering a model that empowers teachers with voice, choice, and agency.

At A Level, we follow the CAIE 9709 curriculum, having previously studied the CAIE 0580 Mathematics syllabus. Our Key Stage 3 curriculum includes a small Romanian national strand for some students, while the majority follow the Cambridge checkpoint, completing the external examination at the end of Grade 8. The success of our Mathematics programme is evidenced by our students' results and other performance indicators.

- Extensive and adaptable subject knowledge to effectively teach Mathematics in Middle School, IGCSE, and A Level.
- An understanding of how students learn, fostering motivation and challenge through engaging learning experiences.
- The ability to apply the scientific cycle of inquiry to enhance students’ investigative skills across all year groups.
- Contribution to curriculum development by revising schemes of work and collaborating with colleagues from other subjects to ensure cohesive curriculum delivery.
- Proficiency in English.
