EYFS / Reception Teacher
About This Role
Reigate Grammar School Phnom Penh (RGSPP) is looking for an enthusiastic and committed EYFS & Reception Teacher to provide exceptional, play-based educational experiences for our youngest students. The successful candidate will be tasked with creating a nurturing and stimulating atmosphere that promotes essential skills in communication, creativity, critical thinking, and social-emotional development. As a member of the EYFS team, the teacher will ensure that lessons and activities are engaging, suitable for the age group, and in line with the British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. Collaboration with colleagues, parents, and school leadership will be vital to guarantee that each child receives a rich, personalized education tailored to their developmental needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement engaging, developmentally suitable lessons based on the EYFS framework.
- Inspire a passion for learning through interactive, hands-on activities that foster curiosity and creativity.
- Utilize a child-centered, inquiry-based approach to support individual growth.
- Aid in early literacy and numeracy development through structured and play-based learning.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring every child receives adequate support and challenges.
Curriculum Development & Assessment
- Create and execute a comprehensive EYFS curriculum that addresses the needs of all learners.
- Utilize observational assessments and other tools to track student development and inform lesson planning.
- Ensure that learning activities align with the Early Years Foundation Stage framework and the school’s core values.
- Collaborate with colleagues to facilitate a seamless transition from EYFS to Key Stage 1.
Professional Development & Staff Support
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training to enhance teaching practices.
- Collaborate with EYFS colleagues to maintain continuity and consistency in early years education.
- Contribute to curriculum planning and innovation within the EYFS team.
- Engage in school-wide professional development activities, including INSET days and staff training.
Pastoral & Student Well-being
- Cultivate a warm, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that supports all aspects of early childhood development.
- Implement behavior management strategies that align with the school’s positive discipline policies.
- Build positive relationships with students, helping to nurture their confidence, independence, and overall well-being.
- Work closely with parents to support their children's learning, providing regular feedback and opportunities for engagement.
Co-Curricular & Whole School Contribution
- Get involved in school-wide initiatives, events, and extracurricular activities that enhance the learning experience.
- Support EYFS assemblies, performances, and celebrations that highlight student learning and development.
- Encourage children to participate in creative, physical, and social activities outside the classroom.
Operational & Administrative Responsibilities
- Keep precise records of student progress, assessments, and lesson plans.
- Ensure that classroom resources are organized, developmentally appropriate, and aligned with curriculum objectives.
- Follow safeguarding and health and safety protocols to ensure student welfare.
- Contribute to the formulation of school policies related to EYFS education.
Marketing & Admissions
- Assist with open days, parent information sessions, and school tours, showcasing the EYFS offerings at RGSPP.
- Communicate with prospective families to emphasize the advantages of early years education at RGSPP.
- Contribute to school publications and online platforms to promote the EYFS curriculum and achievements.
All Teachers
- Teach (or be available for Private Study supervision or cover) a designated timetable each week.
- Take on responsibilities within their department, such as aiding in the setting and grading of intern.
