ROLE SUMMARY:

St. Louis School Archinto is seeking a passionate and skilled English Teacher & SENDCo to join our team starting in August 2026. This hybrid role involves teaching the IB Diploma Programme and IGCSE English, while also managing SEND responsibilities, offering support for students with additional learning needs throughout the High School.

The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional English instruction, advocate for inclusive practices, assist students with diverse learning profiles, and collaborate closely with staff and families to ensure all students can engage with the curriculum and achieve their maximum potential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teach English within the IB Diploma Programme (Language & Literature and/or Literature) and IGCSE English Language and Literature.
  • Develop and deliver engaging, analytical, and skills-based lessons in line with IB principles.
  • Prepare students for Internal Assessments and IB examinations.
  • Oversee SEND provisions across the High School (0.75 allocation).
  • Identify students requiring additional support and coordinate appropriate interventions.
  • Develop and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and access arrangements.
  • Support teachers with differentiation techniques and inclusive classroom strategies.
  • Communicate with parents, external specialists, and examination boards as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with IB and examination board regulations related to access arrangements.
  • Promote a culture of inclusivity, well-being, and student support.
  • Contribute to the broader school community and adhere to safeguarding protocols.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

Essential

  • A degree in English.
  • A recognized teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching English at the upper secondary level.
  • Experience supporting students with additional learning needs.
  • A strong understanding of inclusive education and differentiation techniques.
  • Outstanding organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively balance teaching and leadership responsibilities.
  • Legal authorization to live and work in Italy (EU passport or valid work permit).

Desirable

  • Experience teaching English in the IB Diploma Programme and IGCSE.
  • Previous experience as a SENDCo or in a learning support leadership role.
  • Familiarity with IB and IGCSE access and inclusion policies.
  • Experience in an international school setting.
  • Proficiency in Italian (beneficial but not required).

Compensation
