We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and skilled DT teacher to join our esteemed secondary department.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching across various age groups and abilities, including GCSE and A-Level, demonstrating a proven history of achieving results.

This position is part of our strategic growth initiative to accommodate rising student enrollment and program demand.

General Professional Responsibilities

The professional responsibilities of a teacher will include the following tasks:

- Delivering lessons, which encompass planning and preparing courses, setting and grading assignments, and assessing, recording, and reporting on student development, progress, and achievements in accordance with the school's policies and expectations.

- Utilizing data to guide classroom instruction, monitoring student progress, and implementing timely interventions as needed.

- Preparing students for public examinations, assessing them for these exams, recording and reporting the assessments, and attending meetings related to the management of public examinations.

- Engaging with parents through consultations, including drafting reports.

- Participating in Parents’ Evenings and Open Evenings.

- Maintaining good order and discipline within the classroom.

- Attending departmental meetings and Open Evenings.

- Collaborating with colleagues in shaping departmental policy, implementing curricular initiatives, and developing programs of study and assessment methods.

- Assisting with administrative and organizational tasks to ensure the department operates smoothly.

- Staying current with curriculum innovations, engaging in CPD opportunities, and contributing to personal professional growth.

- Working collaboratively with support teachers in the classroom.

- Assuming responsibility for monitoring and supporting new teachers if necessary.

- Setting work for classes when absence is anticipated and providing assignments for absent colleagues as needed.

- Taking charge of a specific area of the curriculum, administration, curriculum innovation, or special projects.

- Carrying out additional tasks as reasonably assigned by the Head of Department.

- Familiarizing oneself with the DSIB inspection framework and the expectations for exceptional teaching and learning in the UAE.

- Supporting UAE initiatives and cultural expectations.

Candidate Profile

To be considered for this role, the successful candidate must:

- Hold relevant qualifications.

- Have experience teaching in British Curriculum schools, specifically with IGCSE and A-level.

- Exhibit a genuine enthusiasm for the subject and the ability to inspire students.

- Possess knowledge of assessment and examination protocols for KS3, KS4, and KS5.

- Be an outstanding educator capable of demonstrating exceptional teaching practices and student progress.

- Work effectively within a team.

- Stay updated on advancements in their subject area.

- Show a commitment to professional development, seeking further training opportunities within or outside the department to advance their career.
