About This Role

Primary Class Teacher (m/f/d)

St. George’s the British International School, Munich, Germany

Due to the ongoing expansion of our institution, St. George's School is in search of a qualified professional to join our thriving primary department, with an anticipated start date in August 2026 or earlier if feasible.

The School

Since its inception in September 2013, St. George’s School Munich has quickly evolved into a vibrant community of approximately 800 students and 100 educators. As the school continues its growth trajectory, we aim to maintain this number. Our ethos, which intertwines a rich curriculum with a family-oriented approach, creates a warm and inviting environment for both staff and students.

In September 2017, we entered an exciting new chapter by relocating to a state-of-the-art campus in the city. These facilities offer exceptional educational resources for all ages and subjects.

The National Curriculum is implemented throughout the school, with IGCSE qualifications available to our Upper School pupils. Students in the Sixth Form prepare for the International Baccalaureate Diploma.

As part of a network of three schools across Germany, St. George’s offers the successful candidate a diverse array of opportunities for professional growth and development within the group.

The Location

Our new campus is situated in Schwabing-Freimann, north of the city center, boasting excellent access to the U6 metro line and the A9 motorway.

Munich, the capital of Bavaria and Germany's third-largest city, is a lively cultural hub with a broad and diverse international community. Nestled at the foothills of the Alps, the city provides a high quality of life along with abundant opportunities for travel and outdoor activities.

Munich Airport is located 30 km from the school, offering numerous daily flights to the UK, and high-speed rail connections link Munich to various European cities.

The Role

We are looking to hire a qualified Primary Class Teacher to contribute to our vibrant primary department.

The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic educator with a proven track record of helping students reach their full potential. We seek an individual who embodies a blend of experience, passion, and enthusiasm for teaching that will motivate our pupils.

As the Primary Class Teacher, you will be the main contact for students and their families, overseeing and fostering students' academic, social, emotional development, and overall well-being. Teachers are expected to monitor students’ progress diligently and maintain ongoing communication with parents.

Proficiency in English and knowledge of the English National Curriculum are essential. A keen interest in enhancing the vibrant extra-curricular offerings of the department will be advantageous.

Given the evolving nature of our school, adaptability and a willingness to support fellow team members are crucial. A strong commitment to contributing to the school's rich pastoral and extra-curricular life is also preferred.
