Role Overview
Aldenham Prep School Riyadh is on the lookout for an exceptional and driven Humanities Teacher to implement a dynamic, high-quality curriculum for Key Stage 3 (Years 7–9).
The ideal candidate will teach a blend of History, Geography, and/or integrated Humanities, nurturing curiosity, critical thinking, and global awareness in accordance with the British National Curriculum and the school's values.
Teaching & Learning
• Design and deliver captivating Humanities lessons for Years 7, 8, and 9
• Instruct across various subjects, including:
• History
• Geography
• (Optional) Aspects of global studies / integrated humanities
• Tailor teaching methods to accommodate the diverse needs of all students
• Employ a variety of assessment techniques to evaluate progress and guide instruction
• Uphold high standards for behavior and academic achievement
Curriculum & Planning
• Contribute to the formulation of a cohesive and progressive KS3 Humanities curriculum
• Ensure alignment with the framework of the British curriculum
• Integrate cross-curricular connections and global perspectives
• Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, and learning resources
Assessment & Reporting
• Regularly monitor and assess student progress
• Deliver clear, constructive feedback to students
• Prepare reports in accordance with school policy
• Utilize data to enhance student performance and support interventions
Pastoral & Safeguarding
• Serve as a form tutor (if needed) and assist in promoting student wellbeing
• Champion the school’s values, behavior expectations, and safeguarding policies
• Keep accurate records of attendance, behavior, and academic progress
• Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment
Collaboration & Professional Engagement
• Collaborate with colleagues in the Humanities department and the wider school community
• Engage in departmental meetings, professional development, and school initiatives
• Participate in extracurricular activities, trips, and enrichment programs
• Foster positive relationships with parents and the wider school community
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in History, Geography, or a related Humanities field
• Recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
• Proven experience teaching KS3 students (Years 7–9)
• Solid understanding of the British National Curriculum
• Experience in an international or British overseas educational setting
• Capability to teach across various Humanities disciplines
• Familiarity with cross-curricular or thematic teaching methods
