About This Role

GEMS Al Barsha National School is looking for a skilled Assistant Principal to join the Primary leadership team and oversee English instruction across the primary school starting in August 2026.

In the role of Primary Assistant Principal, you will uphold the school's vision, core values, mission, aims, and policies. Your focus will be on fostering effective leadership and management within the school, ensuring exemplary standards of teaching, learning, curriculum, student achievement, and pastoral care within the primary team.

Key responsibilities of the Assistant Principal will include:


Actively participating in the strategic planning and self-evaluation processes of the school.


Leading, developing, and managing all aspects of teaching and learning, curriculum development, target-setting, assessment, tracking, recording, and reporting for the primary team.


Playing a pivotal role in curriculum development for the primary team in collaboration with senior and middle leaders, alongside all teaching staff.


Working with members of the senior leadership team to guide target-setting, assessment, and data tracking within the primary team.


Being accountable for the standards of attainment, progress, achievement, and behavior within the primary team, monitoring and evaluating progress in these areas, and identifying further actions for improvement.


Possessing a thorough working knowledge of the KHDA/DSIB UAE Inspection Framework and Supplement, as well as the UAE Vision 2021 and National Agenda, to support leadership and management within the primary team.

Required Skills:


A Bachelor’s degree and Qualified Teacher Status.


An accredited leadership qualification or currently enrolled in a leadership development program.


Demonstrated expertise in leading change and fostering innovation.


A commitment to promoting and supporting the school's vision, values, and ethos.


Evidence of ongoing professional development and growth.


Demonstrated innovation that has resulted in enhanced standards and increased motivation for both students and staff.


Knowledge of competency-led curriculum frameworks.


Understanding of high-quality educational provisions and strategies to secure them within the school.


A track record of successful target achievement.


A drive, enthusiasm, determination, and relentless energy to enhance the life opportunities and experiences of students.


The ability to inspire high expectations, enthusiasm, and commitment among staff.


Leading initiatives related to careers and future skills education throughout the school.


Managing Parent Partnerships and communication effectively.


Overseeing the line management of Heads of Department.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
