The role of Secondary School Pedagogist is vital in driving the successful application and ongoing enhancement of EtonHouse pedagogy throughout its International Schools. Reporting to the Group Head of Pedagogy, this position collaborates within the Pedagogy Team based in Singapore and works directly with school leaders and teaching staff to promote exemplary practices in curriculum design, teaching, learning, and assessment. Responsibilities include mentoring, building capacity, and contributing to curriculum innovation and consistency across all schools under the EtonHouse brand globally.

Key Responsibilities

A. Pedagogical Leadership and Professional Learning

• Lead efforts in curriculum innovation and alignment to foster an inquiry-based and student-centered pedagogical framework, drawing on models like the International Baccalaureate (IBPYP/IBMYP/IBDP), International Curriculum Association (IPC/IMYC), and/or Cambridge International Education.

• Design and support the written, taught, and assessed curriculum practices.
Plan and deliver professional learning opportunities and curriculum discussions for school staff in partnership with school-based Pedagogical Leadership Teams.

• Organize and conduct internal workshops, conferences, and training sessions for both local and international schools (travel within the region may be necessary).
Mentor and guide Senior Teachers, Curriculum Coordinators, and newly appointed pedagogical leaders.
Assist school teams in fostering a culture of reflective teaching and professional dialogue through modeling, co-teaching, and providing feedback.

B. School Support and Engagement

• Perform scheduled school visits to observe teaching and learning practices, offer feedback, and collaboratively plan professional development initiatives.

• Build positive, respectful, and growth-oriented relationships with school principals and curriculum leaders.

• Collaborate on projects aimed at enhancing pedagogical alignment, innovation, and instructional excellence within and among schools.

• Aid teaching teams in effectively translating curriculum frameworks into everyday practice with both fidelity and creativity.

C. Curriculum Development and Research

• Work closely with the school leadership team to evaluate and analyze data, leveraging insights to continuously improve curriculum design and implementation.

• Contribute to the development of asynchronous professional learning modules and digital resources to support teacher development.

• Participate in action research, literature reviews, and the investigation of international best practices in pedagogy.

• Assist in creating assessment tools and practices that align with school-wide learning outcomes and educational philosophies.

D. Organisational Projects and Initiatives

• Lead or participate in group-wide pedagogical initiatives and strategic projects, including technology and AI-related efforts, as directed by the Group Head of Pedagogy.

• Engage in curriculum mapping and alignment activities across year levels and campuses to ensure both horizontal and vertical coherence.

• Provide pedagogical insights in group-level audits, reviews, and school improvement planning processes.

• Assume other responsibilities or projects pertinent to pedagogy and organizational growth.

Job Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

• A recognized Degree in Education or an equivalent qualification.

• At least 3 years of experience in a pedagogical leadership position (e.g., Senior Teacher, Curriculum Coordinator, Academic Lead).

• Demonstrated experience in secondary education and familiarity with curriculum frameworks such as (IBPYP/IBMYP/IBDP), International Curriculum Association (IPC/IMYC), and/or Cambridge International Education.

• Solid understanding of subject-specific learning and teaching methodologies in at least two subject areas.

• The position requires periodic travel to support international schools.

• Experience working across multiple schools or campuses and leading large-scale professional development initiatives.
Proven ability to establish trust, mentor colleagues, and effect meaningful pedagogical improvements.

Desirable Skills and Attributes

• Proficiency in English is essential. Fluency in English and an additional language is advantageous.

• Insight into child development and learning behaviors in upper primary and secondary education.

• Highly organized, self-reliant, and capable of managing multiple priorities across various schools.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the capacity to motivate and engage adult learners.

• Digitally adept, with the ability to utilize technology to enhance communication, organization, and work delivery.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
