About This Role
Socrates Educa International School, situated in Salou, south of Barcelona, has the capacity to accommodate up to 800 students and provides a comprehensive educational experience for learners aged 1 to 18+. This institution is the inaugural establishment to operate under the Socrates Educa model, an innovative educational framework that is expected to be adopted by future schools.
As a vibrant and joyful trilingual school offering instruction in English, Spanish, and Catalan, we provide a range of programs including Pre-school, Primary, Secondary, National and International Baccalaureate (IB), as well as the US High School Dual Diploma, with a strong international focus. Additionally, Chinese is offered as a foreign language. Our curriculum is rooted in local standards, yet shaped by insights from educators across the globe and primarily delivered in English.
We host a diverse array of extracurricular activities, establish community connections, and engage in projects, as well as cultural and educational events, culminating in a noteworthy annual university fair. Our vibrant school life is enriched by sports, music, and cultural activities.
We are on the lookout for a Secondary teacher with expertise in both national and International Baccalaureate programs for the upcoming academic year, commencing in September 2026.
Ideal candidates will be collaborative, innovative, and creative educators who can differentiate instruction in the classroom, bring language to life, and are eager to thrive in a multilingual setting. Previous international experience is required, while familiarity with the IB framework is advantageous. Tutoring responsibilities will also be part of the position. Knowledge of the Catalan and/or Spanish curriculum is a plus.
All applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a teacher of Catalan, Spanish, English, or Chinese, with a passion for the subject and the ability to motivate students of varying abilities. Experience with IB is preferred, and the capability to teach an additional subject is beneficial.
- Possess strong ICT skills (comfortable using Mac/iPad and knowledgeable about educational applications).
Qualifications required:
- Bachelor of Education / PGCE / Secondary QTS (BEd / SCITT / School Direct / Teach First) or an equivalent qualification.
Desirable qualifications include:
- Experience teaching Secondary IB and Bachillerato / ESO for ages 12-18.
- IB trained or willing to undertake IB training.
Helpful qualifications include:
- Familiarity with UCAS / D of E programs.
- Knowledge of the Spanish ESO / Bachillerato curriculum.
- Proficiency in Spanish, Catalan, and English.
