Secondary Chemistry Science Teacher Job Description (August 2026)

Tarabya British School (TBS) holds COBIS accreditation and offers a Global Cambridge Curriculum. We create lesson plans aligned with the curriculum goals tailored for Primary grade levels and utilize technology such as computers and smart boards to enhance our teaching methods.
Our teaching strategies are flexible, catering to the diverse learning needs and interests of each student. By fostering positive, nurturing relationships within a close-knit classroom setting, we collaborate with parents and school counselors to ensure optimal academic and social outcomes for our students.
Required: Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry Education/PGCE or an equivalent qualification from your home country
- Valid teaching license/qualification from the UK, CA, US, AU, NZ, IR, SA
We particularly seek candidates who are culturally aware, reliable, adaptable, and capable of thriving in a dynamic environment.
CONTRACT DETAILS:
Start Date: August 2026
Contract Duration: 1 - 2 years (renewable)
Location: Istanbul, Turkey
Work Permit: A work permit application will be necessary after job acceptance, with comprehensive support provided by TBS throughout the process.
Dependent School Fees: TBS teachers receive complimentary school placements for their children.
Housing: Part-furnished 1 or 2-bedroom apartment accommodation will be provided based on family size.
Annual Air Tickets: Annual return airfare is offered for the TBS employee only.
Vacation: Enjoy 6 weeks of summer break, in addition to national holidays and half-term breaks.
Private Medical Insurance: The school covers medical insurance for the TBS employee, while public health insurance will be available for dependents.
NET Salary: Competitive salary based on qualifications and teaching experience.
Paperwork Requirements:
- Attested academic degrees
- Teaching qualification certificates
- ICPC or equivalent documents
- Marriage and birth certificates (and for dependents)
