About This Role

ROLE SUMMARY:

King’s College School, Cascais is on the lookout for an enthusiastic and dedicated Pre-Engineering and STEAM Teacher + Monitor to join our Summer Camps. The ideal candidate will be responsible for guiding the assembly of a Bufori EViE Kart and spearheading STEAM project-based learning for students aged 9 and older.

The program consists of two 2-week camp sessions within a 4-week timeframe, running from 24 June - 25 July 2026. In addition to teaching, the role includes monitoring student welfare, which encompasses supporting evening activities and excursions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



Facilitate engaging, hands-on pre-engineering and STEAM sessions for students aged 9 and above, including overseeing the Bufori EViE Kart assembly and engaging with STEAM project kit tasks.


Plan, develop, and modify lesson content and learning outcomes (to be shared with parents), collaborating with the program coordinator to design each 2-week session.


Differentiate instruction to accommodate various skill levels, assess students' technological design capabilities, and provide meaningful feedback.


Oversee and promote student wellbeing (10–15 students aged 9–17), ensuring a safe, inclusive, and positive environment while also supporting evening activities.


Complete mandatory safeguarding training/modules, adhere to camp guidelines and schedules, and maintain health and safety standards.


Participate in staff duty rotations (such as breaks/meals, pool supervision, night monitoring) and assist with excursions, airport transfers, and staff meetings as necessary.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:


A degree in engineering, computer science, or new technologies.


A robust background in engineering and STEAM.


Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.


Prior experience in curriculum delivery (preferred).


Must be at least 19 years old.


English native speaker level (Advanced/Proficiency C1–C2) (required).


Valid authorization to work within the EU.


Criminal record certificate (dated within the last 3 months).


CV with a photo included in the upper right-hand corner.


Scanned copies of degrees and certifications.


Two reference letters.


Capacity to plan, prioritize, and organize tasks and activities.


Creativity and a knack for fostering innovation.


Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively.

Compensation

449 € - 450 € per week (• Salary: Euros 1800 gross for the whole period. • Included: accommodation, meals, accident insurance • Day Off: 3 mornings a week, Saturday afternoon and Sunday)
