About This Role
Yas School is actively looking for an exceptional Lead Teacher (Literacy) to join our team starting in August 2026 for the academic year 2026-2027, or sooner if feasible.
This role offers an amazing chance to be part of a leading government school in Abu Dhabi, dedicated to merging Emirati cultural values with contemporary global standards to provide our students with an extraordinary educational journey. Our ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to our school’s values while celebrating the rich culture and heritage of the UAE. At Yas School, we implement the Ministry of Education (MOE) curriculum with a focus on inclusive education, enrichment, and fostering future-ready learners. Established in 2015, we are the largest single-campus K-12 government institution, serving over 1750 boys and girls across our expansive campus.
We are in search of a competent educator, with experience in UK or US curricula, and preferably familiar with the UAE Ministry of Education (MOE) curriculum.
As a Lead Teacher, your role will encompass leading school-wide and/or cycle-specific initiatives within your area of expertise, including: instructional leadership, curriculum development, assessment and monitoring, professional development, communication, and technology integration.
The ideal candidate should possess:
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a Post Graduate Diploma in Education
• A Master’s Degree in Education/Educational Leadership or a related field is preferred
• Proficiency in English, as evidenced by a minimum IELTS score of 6 or equivalent
• Bilingual capabilities (English & Arabic) are highly advantageous
• UAE Certified Teaching License/equivalent, or actively pursuing certification
• A minimum of 4 years of classroom teaching experience
• At least 2 years in an academic middle leadership role
• Demonstrated experience in formal or informal leadership aimed at enhancing student achievement
