The Position

The Head of Department will directly report to the Executive Principal through Academic Management.

The individual in this role will oversee a team of specialized subject teachers, which is anticipated to expand significantly as student enrollment rises. The Head of Department will be accountable for the advancement of the subject across all grades within the School. Strong organizational abilities are essential, along with a passion for teaching, innovation, and leadership by example. A commitment to diverse teaching methods and alignment with the School's aims and objectives is also important.

Requirements:

• a high-quality degree focused primarily on the relevant subject;

• possession of a formal teaching qualification is advantageous;

• a keen interest in ongoing professional development;

Skills and Experience:

• expertise in teaching the subject confidently to all age groups 11-18 (Chinese Grades 6 to 12), with current knowledge in the field;

• a strong willingness to support students whose first language is not English is essential;

• proficiency in ICT, with the ability to quickly adapt to new procedures and systems, particularly the SchoolPal platform, which also serves as our Virtual Learning Environment;

• effective administrative capabilities;

• the ability to engage in the extracurricular activities of the School is highly valued;

• a readiness to assist the Admissions and Marketing teams is crucial;

• relevant experience in teaching, examining, or the commercial sector will be considered beneficial.
