About This Role

Stifford Clays Primary School is a happy and positive school seeking to appoint an effective, caring and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to work 1-to-1 with a named child in Year 3. This is a fixed-term position until 17th July 2026, and will be Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 3.15pm (with a 25-minute lunch break), term-time only. The role will include Midday Assistant duties.

You will:

  • have a caring personality and be calm and patient
  • be a team-worker and be flexible and willing
  • have experience of working with children with special educational needs
  • be able to create positive learning environments
  • be encouraging and able to motivate pupils

Why Stifford Clays Primary School?

We are a community-focused school for 2 to 11 year olds, located centrally in the Stifford Clays ward of Thurrock. The original infant and junior schools were built in 1954 and were one-form entry. The school has grown to accommodate 90 children in each year group. We have a resource base provision for children with autism.
