About This Role

The boutique school located in George Town, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, caters to students in Years 1-9 who present a variety of additional learning support needs, including dyslexia, dysgraphia, ADHD, Autism diagnoses, and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) requirements.

This institution adopts a three-pronged approach to education, emphasizing a hands-on, student-centered methodology aligned with the National Curriculum of England. It incorporates evidence-based interventions in literacy and numeracy, alongside cognitive enhancement support aimed at improving foundational cognitive functions, thereby streamlining the learning process. This tailored educational strategy encourages student development in self-confidence and equips them to face new challenges both academically and in life.

The ideal candidate for the Teacher position must:

• Demonstrate exceptional classroom skills, with relevant experience and knowledge in supporting students with additional learning needs, including Special Educational Needs (SEND) and SEMH. Qualifications in Special Education Needs or SEMH are highly desirable.

• Exhibit a strong dedication to elevating standards and enhancing the quality of teaching and learning for all students by remaining informed about best practices.

• Possess a genuine enthusiasm for implementing innovative techniques that engage students through hands-on "real-life" experiences and promote reflection via Project Based Learning and Experiential Learning.

• Be fully devoted to fostering student independence beyond the classroom.

• Assist school leadership with both operational and academic responsibilities, including the thorough development of lesson plans that enhance a student-centered curriculum.

• Have a background in data analysis and its application to effectively drive school improvement and meaningful change.

• Be approachable, responsive, and capable of motivating colleagues, students, and their families.

• Have a comprehensive understanding of processes related to children in care, child protection, and safeguarding, and demonstrate a commitment to collaborative partnerships.

The salary for primary teachers ranges from CI $40,000 to $42,500 per annum, depending on experience. Additional benefits include medical insurance and contributions to a pension plan.
