About you:
We are seeking to hire an Inclusion Learning Support Assistant to become part of our team immediately.
Job Purpose: This role involves providing small group and individual support in literacy, mathematics, motor skills, and/or language. The Individual Needs Support Assistant will assist teachers in promoting the engagement of students with SEND and/or learning barriers in their academic and social growth.
Responsibilities:
• Plan and implement activities to achieve IEP targets, execute structured literacy intervention programs, and professionally report on student progress and outcomes to parents and teachers.
• Provide in-class support during lessons to ensure access to tailored learning.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to enhance student learning, especially for those with SEND or learning barriers.
• Foster the inclusion and acceptance of all students.
• Offer feedback to students on their progress and achievements, as directed by teachers.
• Monitor, maintain, and review records of student progress over time, assisting teachers in planning future lessons based on individual needs.
• Maintain the learning environment and develop appropriate resources for students.
• Implement strategies that enhance students’ self-esteem, confidence, and independence.
• Work within the Inclusion Team, participating in relevant training and attending parent review meetings as required.
Job Specification:
• Applicants should hold a GCSE in English or an equivalent qualification and demonstrate proficiency in both spoken and written English.
• Relevant qualifications and/or completion of training in education and special educational needs are essential.
• Previous experience in a support role within a school environment is required.
• Working hours are from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• A strong work ethic and commitment to upholding staff and student confidentiality are necessary.
• Good organizational and interpersonal skills are essential. Familiarity with inclusive teaching practices is advantageous.
• Knowledge of SEND is a plus.
