Applicants must demonstrate in their application or interview: At least 2 years of full-time teaching experience, either in the UK or in a British Curriculum school. A comprehensive understanding of the National Curriculum for England and contemporary assessment practices. The Head of Subject is primarily responsible for delivering strong academic leadership. This position involves leading, managing, and developing the department to achieve the highest standards of excellence in all its pursuits. Heads of Subject should exemplify leadership and vision while empowering others to implement the agreed departmental strategy within the school. Academic Leadership Design, implement, and oversee the Subject Curriculum and Schemes of Work throughout the Secondary school in accordance with the English National Curriculum. Create, collect, and analyze relevant assessments across all Year groups, using this data to improve teaching, learning, and student achievement. Ensure that high-quality reports are provided to parents in line with whole school expectations. Select appropriate external examination courses. Oversee the performance of all departmental staff and communicate with the Head of Secondary regarding training needs, instances of excellence, and areas requiring attention. Cultivate a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
