Runnymede College is a private institution offering a British education to English-speaking students from diverse national backgrounds residing in Madrid. The objectives of the School are as follows: • To deliver a comprehensive, academic, liberal humanist education to every student, irrespective of sex, race, religion, or nationality. There is no provision for religious instruction. • To assist each child in reaching their fullest potential—intellectually, artistically, or physically—by setting high expectations and employing appropriate teaching methods. Health education is a core component of the curriculum and is also woven into the daily life of the School. Smoking is strictly prohibited. • To foster positive social behaviors, emphasizing respect and consideration for individuals of all ages, including younger students, peers, teachers, visitors, support staff, secretaries, dining personnel, and maintenance staff. Good manners, personal hygiene, and appearance are regarded as essential. • To promote an international perspective, encouraging awareness and respect for the various cultures represented within the student body. • Significant emphasis is placed on helping students make the most of their experience living in Spain. All students are taught Spanish language, along with relevant literature, history, and geography up to Year 11. This curriculum will expand to include Years 12 and 13 over the next three years. Spanish nationals and bilingual students follow language and culture courses as outlined by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science.
