About This Role
The Grade 2 Class Teacher is committed to the principles of Waldorf education, nurturing a love for learning in children and adolescents. Key qualities sought include outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to work well in collaboration with various departments. The successful candidate will manage a classroom of up to 30 students and must demonstrate strong organizational and classroom management skills. Responsibilities for teaching Grade 2 will include, but are not limited to: lesson planning and classroom preparation; delivering main lessons; conducting track classes; and writing student reports. Furthermore, the Grade 2 Class Teacher will be responsible for: attending faculty meetings; acting as the school liaison for parents; organizing parent evenings; participating in all school events and faculty meetings; and stepping in as a substitute teacher in other classrooms when needed.
Qualifications and Skills Required include: BC Teacher Certification, preferably 5 or more years of experience in Waldorf Class Teaching, a Waldorf Training Certificate, and proficiency in both written and spoken English. The employment terms are permanent and full-time, with a salary range of $43,000.00 to $62,988.00 per year, prorated to FTE depending on experience and qualifications. Benefits include extended medical and dental coverage available after three months of employment, and a Group Retirement Plan after one year for full-time employees.
