Position Summary
In this position, reporting to the Director of Technology and Innovation, the Technology Integration and Technical Operations Manager will lead the Technical Operations team and collaborate closely with specialist leads to manage the development, maintenance, and execution of school systems. This role will implement strategic priorities and assist in formulating an information technology plan that addresses the changing needs of a vibrant 21st-century educational ecosystem and operational framework. The Manager will serve as a proactive change leader, guiding the Technical Operations team and working with educators to improve the integration of technology in teaching practices. This position includes executing the York House technology plan across the school community.
Responsibilities
- Direct, mentor, and support the Technical Operations team, which consists of the Technology & Audio Video Specialist and two Junior Analysts, cultivating a collaborative culture focused on service and professional growth.
- Act as a key member of the department’s leadership team, collaborating with colleagues in infrastructure and data analytics to ensure that all technical operations align effectively with strategic goals.
- Work with the Education Technology Coordinator and tech team to implement the technology plan (developed by the Director of Technology and Innovation) with all stakeholders, ensuring high standards of support, operational efficiency, and digital literacy.
- Collaborate with faculty and the Director of Technology and Innovation to explore and facilitate the pedagogical integration of new technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence and Virtual/Augmented Reality.
- Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with educational technology organizations, vendors, and peer institutions to promote professional development opportunities and innovative program initiatives.
- Continuously evaluate emerging K–12 educational technology trends, instructional methods, and research to inform best practices.
- Assess the technology proficiency levels of staff and students, recommending tailored training programs as necessary.
- Create and provide learning resources for faculty and students, including tutorials, manuals, websites, and other interactive materials.
- Organize and conduct professional development training sessions focused on technology.
- Collaborate with database administrators across departments to ensure the integrity of the school’s information management.
- Assist stakeholders using Blackbaud systems.
