Recruiting Institution
View Full School Profile & VacanciesAbout the School: The British School of Barcelona (BSB) is an exceptional educational institution situated in a prime location. As a member of HMC, we have recently undergone a BSO (British Schools Overseas) Inspection, achieving outstanding ratings in all areas, including safeguarding, pupil welfare, student progress, and outcomes.
BSB is a large, highly regarded school that serves students aged 3 to 18. Our curriculum follows the English National Curriculum and offers a wide range of GCSEs, A levels, and the International Baccalaureate Diploma, enhanced by a comprehensive enrichment program.
With over 2000 students from more than 74 different nationalities, BSB employs a staff of over 315. Our campuses are located in three areas: two just outside Barcelona—one in Castelldefels, which includes our Primary, Secondary, and Pre-University facilities, and another in the lively town of Sitges, which hosts an additional Primary campus. BSB City, located in central Barcelona, includes a Foundation campus (opened in September 2021) and a newly established Secondary campus as of September 2023.
The school has seen significant growth, bolstered by substantial investments in recent years, which have included the creation of a state-of-the-art Pre-University Centre (Nexus), a full-sized 4G rugby and football pitch, specialized STEM facilities, and the new BSB City campuses.
In 2026, we plan to further expand the school with the introduction of a cutting-edge campus in Maresme, situated to the east of Barcelona. This new facility will initially accommodate students from Nursery to Year 4 in 2026, with intentions to extend to Year 13 by 2028. This exciting development will boast a variety of specialized facilities, including modern classrooms, science laboratories, well-equipped music and art spaces, social and study areas, and athletic facilities, all set in stunning surroundings featuring mountains and coastlines.
Living in Barcelona offers a wonderful lifestyle, combining urban living with access to nearby beaches and mountains. The area enjoys an exceptional quality of life, characterized by a mild climate and sunny weather throughout the year.
