About This Role
Motivate, inspire, and lead in a thriving learning community.
Te Kura ō Hinepōhatu – Maidstone Intermediate is a vibrant Year 7–8 kura of approximately 550 ākonga. Set in the beautiful Upper Hutt region, we are looking for an inspiring, visionary tumuaki to lead our next chapter.
“A kura where learners thrive” is our vision, grounded in the values of whanaungatanga, manaakitanga, and kaitiakitanga. We are seeking a relational, future-focused leader who will:
- Champion equity and excellence as a Tiriti-honouring leader, with a deep commitment to bicultural partnership.
- Support a dual-curriculum environment, overseeing the delivery of both Te Mātaiaho and Te Marautanga o Aotearoa.
- Be a visible, approachable presence, building strong, authentic partnerships with ākonga, staff, whānau, and iwi.
- Provide strategic leadership that nurtures a high-trust, collaborative culture and supports staff wellbeing.
Our dedicated staff work together to provide an innovative curriculum with a sharp focus on literacy, mathematics, and key competencies. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to head a well-established kura with a supportive Board and a community that is deeply invested in the success of every learner.
