Position Overview
We are seeking a fully qualified and seasoned Teacher of Physics and Science to join our dedicated and passionate team. The ideal applicant should have a genuine enthusiasm for teaching, a commitment to the holistic development of students, and a collaborative spirit that reflects the ethos, values, and goals of our school.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
· A recognized Science degree from an accredited institution, complemented by a PGCE, QTS, or another internationally recognized teaching qualification.
· At least three years of experience teaching Science at KS3 and Physics at KS4–5, with a proven track record of success in I/GCSE and A Level examination outcomes.
· Demonstrated exemplary classroom practice, ideally verified by external sources.
· A strong grasp of effective teaching strategies, learning processes, and the strategic application of assessments to enhance student outcomes.
· Evidence of positive impact on the progress of diverse student groups and cohorts through teaching.
· Willingness to work with small groups, including those with SEND, to provide focused support and encourage progress.
· Commitment to ongoing professional development and collaborative work with colleagues.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Office 365 applications; experience with SIMS is advantageous.
· In-depth knowledge of Safeguarding and Child Protection best practices, supported by recent training.
· Lead and/or engage in various extracurricular school activities.
· A strong team player who embodies the Catholic ethos, values, and aims of the school while being dedicated to the comprehensive education of students.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide pastoral, academic, and behavioral support to students.
· Maintain accurate records of student progress and participate in formal assessment processes.
· Assist parents with referrals to external agencies as needed.
· Work in partnership with parents, staff, and students on Individual Education Plans.
· Communicate effectively with parents through reports and meetings.
· Participate in and lead extracurricular activities.
Salary and Benefits:
· Competitive salary ranging from CI$55,000 - CI$68,500 per annum, tax-free, based on experience and qualifications.
