About the Role

Bahlool British International School, a distinguished British international institution situated in Baghdad, is seeking experienced educators trained in the UK to teach IGCSE and A Level courses.

Curriculum

Our institution follows the Pearson (Edexcel) British Curriculum for both IGCSE and A Level. Familiarity with the Pearson / Edexcel specifications is highly beneficial.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality instruction for IGCSE and A Level (Pearson / Edexcel)
• Design and prepare lessons in alignment with Pearson specifications and assessment objectives
• Assist in the establishment and development of the new Sixth Form Department
• Contribute to curriculum planning, schemes of work, and internal assessments
• Ensure students are thoroughly prepared for external examinations
• Monitor student progress and provide academic support as required
• Uphold exemplary standards of classroom management and professionalism
• Collaborate effectively with senior leaders and Sixth Form staff
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and initiatives related to the Sixth Form

Person Specification

• British-trained teacher with a recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
• Bachelor’s degree in the relevant subject
• Proven experience in teaching IGCSE and/or A Level
• Strong understanding of Pearson / Edexcel exam boards
• Exceptional communication and organizational skills
• Enthusiasm for contributing to the establishment of a new Sixth Form
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a developing team
• Experience in international schools or Sixth Form environments is an advantage but not essential
