Responsible for: Early Years Foundation Stage class-teacher role

Main purpose

The teacher will:

Fulfill the professional responsibilities expected of a teacher, consistently meeting the UK and UAE Teachers’ Standards.

Qualifications and experience


Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)


A relevant Bachelor's degree alongside a recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, B.Ed.).


Minimum of 2 years of successful EYFS teaching experience within the British Curriculum (desirable).


Experience in teaching within the UAE (desirable).

Skills and knowledge


Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.


Understanding of adaptive teaching and learning strategies.


A comprehensive understanding of child learning processes.


Ability to customize teaching to meet the individual needs of students.


Skill in building effective relationships with pupils.


Knowledge of safeguarding policies and requirements for children.


Proficiency in effective behavior management techniques.


Strong ICT skills, particularly in employing technology to enhance learning.


Safe and ethical incorporation of AI in educational practices.


Familiarity with UAE policies and inspection frameworks (desirable).

Duties and responsibilities

Teaching


Create and deliver well-structured lessons for assigned classes, consistent with the school’s pedagogical approach, plans, curriculum, and schemes of work.


Assess, monitor, record, and report on the learning needs, progress, and achievements of allocated pupils, effectively utilizing assessments.


Adapt teaching methods to suit the strengths and needs of pupils.


Establish high expectations that inspire, motivate, and challenge students.


Encourage positive progress and achievements among pupils.


Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and understanding of the curriculum.


Engage in preparations for external assessments.


Use culturally sensitive resources that align with UAE laws and expectations.

Whole-school organisation, strategy and development


Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of the school’s policies, practices, and procedures to support the school’s vision and values.


Play an active role in the broader life and ethos of the school.


Collaborate with others on curriculum and student development to achieve aligned outcomes.


Provide cover when another teacher is unavailable.


Facilitate assigned extracurricular activities during and outside of school hours.

Promote the safety and well-being of pupils.


Maintain discipline and order among pupils, managing behavior effectively to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment.


Follow the school’s centralized behavior policy.

Management of staff and resources


Guide and oversee assigned support staff and, when appropriate, other teachers.


Assist in the recruitment and development of new teachers and support staff.


Manage allocated resources effectively.


Ensure resources are used equitably and efficiently.

Safeguarding

Work in accordance with statutory safeguarding guidelines (e.g., Keeping Children Safe in Education) and our child protection policies.

Collaborate with the designated safeguarding lead (DSL) to prioritize pupil welfare, including sharing concerns when necessary.

Promote the safeguarding of all pupils in the school consistently.

Other areas of responsibility


Ensure complete adherence to all regulations, policies, and frameworks required by the KHDA, BSO, and the UAE Ministry of Education.


Assist the leadership team in preparing for and executing the KHDA inspection process, developing and implementing post-inspection action plans.


Contribute to the success of the UAE National Agenda.


Maintain positive and professional communication with all KHDA and Government Officials, representing the school at necessary forums and meetings as requested by the Principal.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
