About This Role

A key leadership role at the heart of Beck

We are looking for an experienced and highly capable Business Support Manager to join our team at Beck. This is a significant role in a large and busy primary school. As a member of our Senior Leadership Team, you will work closely with the Headteacher and other senior leaders, taking responsibility for the effective management of the school's business and operational functions.

We are looking for someone with strong, well-rounded experience of school business management. You will need to understand how the different parts of a school fit together and be confident working across finance, HR, administration, premises, health and safety and compliance. This isn't a role where you will simply maintain existing systems. We want someone who will get to know Beck, spot where things could work better and have the confidence and expertise to do something about it.

You will lead our administrative and premises teams and take responsibility for ensuring the systems behind the school work effectively. Your responsibilities will include:

- leading and developing the school's administrative and operational systems;

- overseeing financial administration, budget monitoring and expenditure;

- managing HR processes, payroll administration and key workforce information;

- line managing and developing administrative and premises staff, including lunchtime staff;

- overseeing premises, health and safety, contracts, procurement, lettings, licences and insurance;

- ensuring key statutory, Trust and school compliance requirements are met;

- providing clear information and advice to the Headteacher, senior leaders and governors;

- working closely with colleagues across Cascade Multi Academy Trust.

We're Looking For Someone Who:

- has substantial experience of school business, operations or administration, or with experience across a range of relevant areas;

- is financially confident and able to understand, monitor and report on budgets;

- has experience of leading people and getting the best from a team;

- understands the importance of effective HR, premises, health and safety and compliance systems within a school;

- is exceptionally organised and can manage competing priorities without losing sight of what matters;

- can analyse information, solve problems and make sound recommendations;

- communicates confidently and builds positive relationships with a wide range of people;

- has the confidence to take responsibility, make decisions and challenge constructively when needed;

- remains calm when things don't go to plan - because, in a school, they sometimes won't!

- shares our high expectations and genuinely wants to contribute to making Beck better.

You don't need to know the answer to every question on day one! You do need enough breadth of business experience to know what good looks like, where the risks are and when something needs attention.

This could be the role for you if...

You are already working in school business management and are ready for a larger or broader role; or you have significant experience across business operations and are ready to bring that experience together in a school leadership position.

What matters most to us is that you can demonstrate the breadth, judgement and leadership needed to do this role exceptionally well.

Compensation

Actual salary: £37,442 - £40,921 per annum
