Aldar Education is on the lookout for an exceptional Teacher of Computer Science (A-Level) to join Yasmina British Academy in Abu Dhabi for the upcoming academic year 2026-2027.

Responsibilities:

• Support the academy in realizing its overall vision and strategic goals while contributing to the achievement of targets outlined in the academy's improvement plan and self-evaluation form.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations in the workplace and follow academy policies related to safe working practices and equal opportunities.
• Comply with the academy's Performance Management Policy by setting ambitious annual targets and fulfilling the role of performance management reviewer when requested by the Principal.
• Participate in annual training related to child protection, safeguarding, and health and safety, along with any additional training relevant to academy improvement or performance management.
• Attend all staff briefings.
• Foster an environment conducive to outstanding learning and teaching.
• Define clear teaching objectives and outline methods for instruction and assessment.
• Assign tasks that challenge students and maintain high levels of engagement.
• Establish clear targets that build on students’ prior achievements.
• Identify students with special educational needs or those who are exceptionally able.
• Provide structured lesson frameworks that maintain pace, motivation, and challenge.
• Utilize assessment effectively to ensure comprehensive coverage of study programs.
• Leverage performance data and key indicators to inform planning and deliver differentiated learning tailored to individual needs.
• Ensure effective teaching practices and optimal use of available time.
• Maintain a positive learning atmosphere in line with the academy’s procedures, promoting good practices concerning punctuality, behavior, work standards, and homework.
• Employ various teaching methods to:
• Align approaches with content, organize information, present key concepts, and use appropriate vocabulary.
• Utilize effective questioning techniques, attentively listen to students, and address errors and misconceptions.
• Select suitable learning resources and foster study skills through library, ICT, and other educational technologies.
• Ensure students acquire and reinforce knowledge, skills, and understanding relevant to the subject.
• Critically evaluate personal teaching to enhance effectiveness.
• Assess and monitor students' work, setting targets for their progress.
• Systematically evaluate and record students’ progress, maintaining records to track understanding and completion, identifying strengths and areas for development, informing planning, and recognizing students’ achievement levels.
• Conduct assessments as requested by examination bodies and adhere to departmental and academy procedures.
• Prepare and present informative reports to parents.
• Participate in subject-specific activities or aspects of the academy's work, developing plans that establish clear targets and success criteria for growth and/or maintenance.
• Contribute to the academy's overall visioning activities.
• Strive to provide every child with the opportunity to reach their potential and uphold high expectations.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure effective sharing and utilization of resources for the benefit of the academy, department, and students.
• Engage in the collective life of the academy by actively participating in meetings and management systems necessary for coordinating leadership and management efforts.
• Take part in marketing and outreach activities such as open evenings/afternoons, parent-teacher consultations, and events with partner academies.

Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field with a teaching qualification.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience teaching a specialist subject up to GCSE and A Level is preferred but not mandatory.
