About This Role

We are on the lookout for a vibrant and passionate IT with Robotics and Coding Teacher to become part of our team at a British curriculum school. The chosen candidate will take on the responsibility of educating students in Computing while playing a key role in enhancing our robotics curriculum for Key Stage 3 (Year 7-9). It is essential that they equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in the realm of IT with Robotics and Coding.

We are in search of a forward-thinking IT with Robotics and Coding educator for Key Stage 3 (Year 7-9), who brings a diverse set of skills and characteristics that will effectively engage and motivate our learners. A strong grasp of the subject matter is crucial, allowing them to convey intricate technical concepts in a manner that is both clear and captivating.

Additionally, the ideal candidate should exhibit creativity and innovation in their teaching methods, continually seeking out new approaches and resources to make the curriculum more relatable and stimulating for our diverse student body. This could include researching emerging technologies, crafting new lesson plans, or developing strategies to accommodate different learning styles.

As an IT with Robotics and Coding teacher, strong communication abilities are vital for articulating technical concepts in a straightforward and succinct manner. The ability to tailor teaching methods to cater to varied student needs and to effectively interact with parents and colleagues is also essential.

Candidates must possess strong problem-solving skills that encourage students to tackle challenges creatively and inventively.

Responsibilities:

• Teach IT with Robotics and Coding to KS3 students.

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging lessons.

• Assess and monitor student progress while providing constructive feedback and support.

• Foster a positive learning atmosphere that encourages active participation from students.

• Employ a variety of teaching and learning strategies to cater to individual student needs.

• Contribute to the development of the Robotics and Coding program.

• Engage in the broader school community through extracurricular activities, events, and parent involvement.

Requirements:

• A degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related discipline.

• Qualified teacher status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching credential is preferred.

• Experience teaching IT with Robotics and Coding within a British curriculum school.

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Scratch, and Java.

• Familiarity with robotics and coding tools, including Lego Mindstorms, Raspberry Pi, and Arduino.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Experience working with EAL learners is a plus.

• A dedication to ongoing professional development and staying informed about the latest advancements in IT with Robotics and Coding.

• Availability to start in August 2026.
