About This Role
Heidelberg International School (H.I.S.) is an IB World School dedicated to serving the international community in the Rhine-Neckar region of Germany. Located on our purpose-built campus in Heidelberg, we offer a nurturing and respectful educational atmosphere for around 230 students, ranging from age 4 to those enrolled in the IB Diploma Programme. Beginning in August 2026, we are in search of a passionate and skilled: IB DP & IB MYP Visual Arts Teacher (Part-time position).
In this position, you will guide and support students enrolled in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme and Middle Years Programme within a collaborative, international educational setting. Your Responsibilities:
• Instruct DP and MYP Visual Arts classes in line with the IB curriculum, encouraging inquiry-based learning, creativity, and critical thinking
• Design, prepare, and deliver captivating and differentiated lessons that align with IB standards and objectives
• Support student growth through both formative and summative assessment practices
• Collaborate with peers in curriculum design, interdisciplinary initiatives, and school-wide projects
• Actively engage in school life, including meetings, parent communications, and extracurricular activities
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the arts department and the integration of IB practices
What You Bring:
• Fluency in English (native level or equivalent)
• A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, M.Ed., Staatsexamen, or equivalent)
• Classroom teaching experience, preferably in international or bilingual environments
• Excellent communication, organizational, and intercultural skills
• Experience teaching IB Visual Arts in the Diploma Programme and/or Middle Years Programme is highly valued
• IB training or certification is a significant advantage
• Basic knowledge of German is helpful but not required
