The Opportunity

We are in search of an outstanding and inspiring Prep Teacher to join the founding academic team at Queen Elizabeth’s School, Gurugram.

The Role

Job Title: Prep Teacher

Reporting to: Head of Prep School

Teaching and Learning Excellence


Deliver creative, imaginative, and intellectually challenging lessons that align with the National Curriculum for England while fully adhering to local requirements.


Purposefully integrate locally mandated subjects with a focus on quality and cultural sensitivity.


Promote personalized learning by tailoring instruction to meet the individual needs, interests, and learning profiles of all students, ensuring that every learner is appropriately challenged and supported.


Effectively utilize educational technology to enhance teaching, inspire creativity, and foster digital fluency in line with the school’s innovation objectives.


Employ both formative and summative assessment techniques to monitor student progress, refine teaching strategies, and ensure students meet and exceed age-related standards.


Adapt instructional methods to ensure accessibility for students with varying abilities, including those requiring additional support or enrichment.

Student Wellbeing, Safeguarding, and Development


Create a classroom atmosphere rooted in respect, empathy, and high expectations, where every student feels secure, valued, and understood.


Support students' holistic development by nurturing their emotional wellbeing, resilience, social skills, and character alongside their academic success.


Exemplify professionalism, emotional intelligence, and ethical conduct, serving as a daily role model for students.


Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding and child protection, ensuring all responsibilities are met in accordance with school policies, local regulations, and international best practices.

Parent and Community Partnership


Foster open, proactive communication with parents to cultivate strong partnerships that support each child's educational journey.


Provide updates on progress, behavior, and achievements through regular communications, parent meetings, and formal reports.


Actively participate in parent-focused events, including conferences, workshops, and celebration days, to foster a welcoming and engaged school community.


Approach all family interactions with cultural sensitivity, ensuring that communication is respectful, inclusive, and considerate of diverse backgrounds.

Professional Development & Collaboration


Engage in your own professional growth by participating in school-led training and external opportunities to stay current in effective pedagogy.


Share best practices and collaborate with colleagues to refine teaching methods, co-plan, and enhance educational experiences throughout the school.


Contribute to staff meetings, planning teams, and teaching and learning communities, demonstrating leadership in thought and practice.

Curriculum Enrichment and Innovation


Assist in the ongoing development and contextualization of the school’s curriculum, ensuring it is broad, deep, and relevant to both international and regional contexts.


Design interdisciplinary projects and inquiry-based experiences that promote critical thinking, global awareness, and cross-curricular connections.


Ensure cultural responsiveness is woven into all planning and delivery, celebrating diversity and reflecting the values of the school’s global community.

Whole School Contribution


Lead or support high-quality extracurricular activities, including clubs, competitions, and enrichment opportunities that enhance the student experience.


Participate actively in school-wide initiatives and events, such as assemblies, theme weeks, festivals, and performances.


Comply with all school policies, including those related to safeguarding, health and safety, and inclusion, maintaining the utmost professionalism at all times.

The Person

Qualifications and Experience


Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field.


A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).


At least 2-3 years of teaching experience, preferably in a Cambridge International Curriculum school.


Proven experience in differentiating instruction and supporting students with diverse learning needs.


Familiarity with local educational regulations and standards is advantageous.
