Job Title: SEN Teacher
Location: Copper Fields School, Gunnislake PL18 9EH
Hours: 40.5 hours per week | Monday 8.30am-5.00pm | Tuesday to Friday 8.30am-4.30pm
Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum (not pro rata)
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only

About the Role
We are thrilled to present an outstanding opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teacher to become part of the team at Copper Fields School, a member of Options Autism. This position is tailored for a qualified teacher who is committed to inclusive education and aims to make a significant impact by aiding pupils with autism, learning difficulties, and complex needs in a supportive and creative setting.

As an SEN Teacher, you will be instrumental in fostering a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment that allows every student to excel academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities
- Teach and assist students with various special educational needs, including autism, learning difficulties, and complex needs.
- Design and implement engaging and accessible lessons that encourage both academic advancement and personal growth.
- Utilize a variety of innovative teaching methods and resources to cater to diverse learning styles and requirements.
- Modify instruction based on EHCP outcomes, individual objectives, and developmental levels.
- Evaluate, track, and document student progress, celebrating achievements in all areas of development.
- Facilitate the enhancement of communication, independence, emotional regulation, and life skills.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide consistent, high-quality support.
- Make effective use of specialized facilities and resources to enrich learning experiences.
- Establish strong, positive connections with students, families, and caregivers to support each child's educational journey.

Who We Are Looking For
You will be:
- A qualified teacher holding UK QTS (or equivalent).
- Passionate about engaging with students with SEN, autism, and complex needs.
- Creative, adaptable, and responsive in your teaching and learning approach.
- An effective communicator, capable of building trusting relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
- Experienced in, or eager to develop skills in, specialist or alternative education environments.
- Committed to promoting pupil wellbeing, positive behavior support, and inclusive practices.
- Reflective, collaborative, and motivated to contribute to the continuous improvement of the school.

Copper Fields School offers full-time specialist co-education for up to 60 students aged 4-16, primarily focusing on Autism Spectrum conditions, communication, and language challenges, often alongside additional needs.
