Job Title: Learning Outside the Classroom Support Worker
Location: Reddish Hall School, Stockport, SK5 6UY
Hours: 37.5 per week | Monday to Friday | 8.00am – 4.00pm
Salary: £23,660.62 per annum (not pro rata)
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only

About the Role
As a Learning Outside the Classroom Support Worker, you will be instrumental in providing engaging, therapeutic, and meaningful outdoor learning experiences for students at Reddish Hall School. Many of our students have notable SEMH needs and have encountered difficulties in prior educational settings. Through structured, hands-on outdoor activities, you will assist students in building self-confidence, developing social and emotional competencies, and achieving successes outside the traditional classroom. Your contributions will directly enhance their wellbeing, behavior, and lifelong learning abilities.

Key Responsibilities

Outdoor Education Delivery
- Collaborate with the Learning Outside the Classroom Lead and the Pupil Enrichment & Experiential Lead to design, implement, and assess high-quality outdoor learning experiences.
- Facilitate a variety of physical and outdoor activities throughout the year, regardless of weather conditions.
- Take part in small-group or 1:1 intervention sessions using outdoor learning techniques (such as Forest School or therapeutic activities) to assist students with specific SEMH, behavioral, or social needs.
- Track, document, and report on student engagement, progress, and outcomes.
- Organize and oversee outdoor education equipment and resources to ensure safe and effective usage.

Pupil Support and Engagement
- Support students in accordance with the school’s ethos and the SEN Code of Practice, ensuring their needs are recognized and met.
- Foster positive, nurturing, and trusting relationships with students to enhance emotional safety and engagement.
- Demonstrate positive behavior and assist in emotional and behavioral regulation using trauma-informed methods.
- Encourage inclusion, independence, and resilience, motivating students to engage fully in activities.
- Help implement tailored individual behavior support strategies to meet student needs.

About You
- GCSE in Maths and English (or equivalent) at Grade C/4 or above, or the ability to demonstrate equivalent skills
- Proficient spoken and written English
- A passion for aiding children with additional needs
- A calm, compassionate, and proactive demeanor
- Strong teamwork and communication abilities
