Founded in 1924, The British School is a non-profit, independent, co-educational day school located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Our institution consists of two Units across three sites. The Zona Sul School includes two locations: Botafogo and Urca. We provide our students with the chance to achieve both Brazilian qualifications (Ensino Fundamental and Ensino Médio) and international certifications such as the IGCSE and the IB Diploma. Currently, we serve over 2,000 students from more than 60 countries.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and well-organized lessons tailored to diverse learning styles using a variety of teaching methods.
- Apply in-depth subject knowledge to develop effective learning sequences with clear objectives, incorporating digital resources as necessary.
- Utilize school systems and data to monitor student progress, set goals, and provide constructive feedback to improve teaching effectiveness.
- Ensure the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) while promoting literacy, numeracy, and overall well-being in a safe and nurturing environment.
- Actively support the school's Mission and "One School Policy," while committing to ongoing professional growth.
- Maintain timely and professional communication with parents and colleagues regarding student achievements and well-being.
Key Requirements
- A degree and a teaching qualification in Mathematics.
- Proven experience with recognized teacher status.
- Strong knowledge of Mathematics at the secondary level.
- Proficiency in English.
- At least two years of teaching experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with IB and IGCSE programs is a plus, though not required.
- Experience in an educational setting.
