Chief John Keenatch High School Div.4 Teacher
The Big River First Nation Education Department is looking for a high school teacher for a role that will continue until June 2026, based at Chief John Keenatch High School.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver the educational curriculum as directed by the Principal in an effective manner.
- Design and organize class activities while being mindful of the individual needs and differences of each student.
- Collaborate with fellow educators in creating programs and teaching activities that cater to both class dynamics and individual learners.
- Partner with the Principal and colleagues to maintain effective classroom management and discipline.
- Carry out assigned duties within the instructional program in accordance with the educational policies established by the Education Committee and the relevant Saskatchewan Education Act.
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor of Education degree or higher from an accredited institution.
- Eligibility for a Saskatchewan Professional “A” or Provisional Professional “A” teaching certificate.
- Strong understanding of Canada’s Indigenous Peoples, integrating their culture, values, and history into the educational framework.
- Uphold high standards and expectations for student academic achievement.
- Exhibit excellent classroom management skills and employ effective positive behavior management techniques.
- Adapt teaching strategies and curriculum to support and include students with special needs.
- Commitment to completing the entire school year.
- Adherence to the Fit for Duty Policy (Drug & Alcohol Testing).
- Submission of a Clean Criminal Record Check & Vulnerable Sector Check.
