About This Role

Key Responsibilities include:
Uphold and advocate for the ethos and standards of excellence as outlined in the GEMS Core Values.
Deliver the prescribed curriculum, showcasing current and precise knowledge of both curriculum and subject content.
Design and present engaging lessons to inspire students. Develop and utilize suitable materials and classroom settings to accommodate various learning styles.
Provide written documentation of planning and preparation upon request. Maintain and organize records related to curriculum and yearly plans, attendance, teaching resources, assessment strategies, and more.
Ensure adherence to GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct at all times.
Instruct students assigned based on their individual requirements, employing appropriate teaching methods tailored to diverse learning needs and abilities, including late entrants, ESL learners, students with lower academic performance, and those who are gifted and talented.
Assign and evaluate work. Assess, document, and report on students' academic growth, progress, and achievements, using assessments to tailor the curriculum to meet individual student needs.
Exhibit proficiency in utilizing media and technology within the classroom.
Foster the overall progress and well-being of students, providing guidance on educational matters.
Engage with external stakeholders when necessary (e.g., officials from the Ministry of Education).
Participate in performance evaluations, Performance Management processes, and Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
Collaborate with colleagues in the creation and enhancement of teaching materials, resources, study courses, and pastoral care arrangements.
Engage in, and take the lead when appropriate, in the school's co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. Cultivate positive working relationships through proactive leadership and sharing of ideas, resources, and experiences.
Monitor and oversee student behavior, ensuring it is safe and appropriate. Develop and implement strategies that promote self-discipline and effectively manage disruptive behavior.
Demonstrate and promote cultural awareness and understanding while fostering a passion for learning.
Assist in the planning and organization of school events and activities (such as inter-house competitions, concerts, school plays, and prize days).
Maintain regular communication with parents, promoting the GEMS philosophy and core values; keep parents informed about students' progress while safeguarding the confidentiality of student-related information.
Show initiative and dedication beyond the standard work hours when tasks require additional commitment.
Attend staff meetings and participate in committees as necessary.
Carry out other duties as requested by direct and indirect reporting managers/supervisors.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
*Estimated range based on regional data averages.
